称颂
(barak)。含有多层意思。当上帝祝福一个人的时候,上帝赐给他有益的才干,或者宣布他获得这样的才干。当一个人称颂上帝的时候,就表明他承认是上帝赐下各种有益的才干。在旧约时代,人们经常称颂上帝(见诗63:4;103:1,2,20-22;145:2等)。当一个人称赞另一个人时,就表示希望那人得到有用的才干。七十士译本通常把barak 译为eulogeo(“称赞”)。Barak偶尔也可以表示“咒诅”(见伯1:5注释)。

饱足
。见诗36:8注释。第1节说用水解渴,这里说用食物充饥。这些都是比喻。
在床上
。即在夜间。白日的苦难被放大了。在旷野忧虑的夜晚,大卫无疑花很多时间默想上帝。我们在失眠的时候也可以把心思转向上帝。
在夜更的时候
。一夜通常分为三个更次(见哀2:19;撒上11:11)。在被追杀的时候,大卫一定感到很难入睡,但他还是镇定地在默想中度过不眠之时。

王
。诗人现在用第三人称称呼自己。大卫虽然是一个逃亡者,随时处在被扫罗追杀的危险中,仍确信自己终将成为先知撒母耳所膏国王(见撒上16:13)。在大卫“王”字,带有温柔的感伤。他的话是信心的表现。
指着他
。即奉上帝的名。关于起誓的意义,见申6:13注释;又见申10:20;赛65:16。
说谎之人的口
。那些想凭着谎言取胜的人必将困惑。大卫相信,尽管扫罗要谋害他,他仍必得到保护,他的仇敌一定会灭亡。信靠上帝的人有权利知道,他终将获得喜乐和胜利。
