怀爱伦注释 有些人赞美,而其它的人哀号──[引拉3:10]我们无需说这个赞美和称谢乃是完全适当的,他们所看见的这殿就是上帝再三向建筑师说出勉励之话的充分后果,上帝又向祂众仆人说话;而且当他们看见立下殿的根基……都表示感恩……
但是又出现了另外不同的事,就是由于这殿的外观不如第一次圣殿的荣耀,便听到悲哀哭号之声,有那些利用他们善于辞令之才能的人,谈论着这建筑的低劣而比不上所罗门的建筑,那所混杂着乐器和歌唱赞美上帝之欢乐声,确是个不和的音调,这并不是喜乐、或赞美、或称谢,而乃是不满和不平[引拉:3:12]。
他们充分地看见他们在赞美上帝!他们也看见上帝在他们因忘恩负义和不忠于祂的诫命而分散以后,会见了他们。祂曾感动古列的心去帮助那些被指派重建祂殿的人,但是那些灰心的人并不凭着信心行事,他们怀着沮丧的情绪而毫无生气地去很好工作。(1897.116号手稿)

。百姓最近所提供的祭司服装(拉2:69),是按照摩西的律法“为荣耀,为华美”而设计的(出28:40)。
吹号
。吹号是祭司的职责(民10:8;31:6;书6:4;代上15:24;16:6;代下5:12)。敲钹是利未人的任务(代上15:16,19;16:5;代下5:12,13;29:25)。
照以色列王大卫所定的例
。见代上15:16-24。但所罗巴伯的音乐侍奉达不到“大卫所定的例”,因为无法提供大卫音乐中起几种重要的乐器。利未人显然在被掳期间忽略了音乐方面的训练(见诗137:2-4)。
